Small hearts need to feel safe, small eyes need visions of loving faces, and small ears listen for the voices they trust.  When times are tough, families can find it challenging to provide even the basics.  We understand, and we can help strengthen families and  protect children.

East Point Action brings together neighbors and community people to work side by side to grow voices into experienced leaders, unite strangers into stronger communities  and troubled souls into caring families.

Programs & Resources

  • BUILDING FAMILY RESILIENCY: Rebuilding family life by establishing Family Team Meetings to help vulnerable families reach their goals.  Connecting foster families to community resources and training opportunities
  • COMMUNITY BUILDING:  Resource partnering with Atlanta Community Ministries, Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church,  East Point Fire Department, Genesis Prevention Coalition, Neighborhood Associations, Hands On  Atlanta, The Corporation for National and Community Service (Georgia State office), Georgia State University, South Fulton Human Services Coalition, Atlanta/Fulton Family Connection Partnership, The Future Foundation, United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, Village Keepers, Inc., JustGeorgia, Atlanta Community Engagement Team.
  • SKILLED VOLUNTEER PROGRAM: EP-CAT fosters community involvement through its national service program, AmeriCorps VISTA. AmeriCorps members’ primary responsibility is to develop systems and processes to recruit train and retain community volunteers. Volunteers provide leadership training and technical assistance to support EP-CAT’s community building efforts.  Community volunteers are also recruited to act as Youth Advocates that promote substance abuse prevention education.
  • SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION NETWORK (SAPNET):  is a project of EP-CAT which is designed to connect youth, parents, schools, community organizations, businesses, local government, faith-based organizations and other partners in a targeted effort to prevent substance abuse among youth and families throughout South Fulton County.
  • WARM CHATTER CAFÉ: Energizing community spirit through EP-CAT’s Warm Chatter Café, which promotes “Relief Through Expression” and strives to enhance responsible stress management through creative outlets.
